Things have been very busy here at the hive. Nick has rounded his first year at the shop and is well on his way to carving out his mold as a tattooer. Plenty of updates coming soon as well with new pictures for the portfolio section and dates for our convention schedule for the year. At the Hive several factors come in to play on decision making in why we do things. From the drawing down to the tattoo process we are strict with our policies and are proud of our professionalism, there will be no compromises. Most people have a good understanding of this. Lately some people were to hard headed to understand why certain calls are made and were asked to leave the store. Leaving with no tattoo is better than leaving with a bad tattoo. I hope this helps.

November Coming Fire
Happy Halloween!!
Considering the hard rain and early snow fall on the night of THE HIVE’s ” I’ll Remember Halloween” art reception, the attendemce was fairly decent. The food was great, the Naragansett was Narragansett but the art as usual was the highlight. we will be adding pictures in the gallery section of the site so you can check out the art and the nights highlights. Along with friends Chris Dingwell and CanMan, THE HIVES Kevin Bledsoe will be a working this years COAST CITY COMICCON. The group will be doing a live painting demonstration all weekend.—-We incourage everyone to come by and check out the weekends events. More to come news to come asap.
Autumn 2011
A beautiful time in New England! Fall is a season of change and this applies to The Hive. Nick P has proven himself to be a great work horse. He has a great understanding of his role in tattooing and how to strive to better himself and the quality of his work. His Portfolio will be added Shortly to show his unique style in classic american tattooing.
With the darker half of this Yin Yang style of news, Kevin Bledsoe and the Hive Gallery no longer are responsible for student apprentice Danny Bryant who has not yet finished his apprenticeship. He was rewarded a license to practice legally under supervision but after receiving his license he showed a new conduct and manner that was less than professional. Once again Kevin Bledsoe and THE HIVE GALLERY are not responsible for Dan Bs’ tattooing or any related areas now or in the future.
With the fall comes Halloween and with it THE HIVE GALLERYS ” ILL REMEMBER HALLOWEEN” art show. This year the reception falls on the 29th which is the Saturday before Halloween. Check The Hive Gallery’s face-book profile for a list of events. As always the event will be a DJed costume party sponsored by Narragansett Beer and show some of the best Halloween art ever from artists from all over.
Storm Blow out!
Ladies and Gents,
Our hearts go out to all the people who’s lives were affected by the storm. You all are in our prayers and we hope that relief will come soon. The storm to all our luck did not have the impact the media hyped but still hit hard enough to tear through trees and damage property.
The “Live Free Or Die” New Hampshire convention was a giant success for The Hive. It was also a chance for artist Kevin Bledsoe to meet Machine Builder Ernie Del. of Deluxe Irons. If you haven’t seen his machines yet you should take a look at www.deluxeirons.com. These are some of the most beautiful machines built and run even better.
Montreal – those of you from the montreal area Kevin Bledsoe will be at the convention this weekend August 2nd -4th, if you would like to make an apt. please call Nick at the shop or mail kevin through the site or at templedesignhq@yahoo.com thanks- More to come soon!
Student Apprentice Nick Pellegrino received his license and has been plugging away and working hard to improve upon his chops. New portfolios will be added shortly to see the work progress and mark his speedy growth as a tattooer.
June 21st summer solstice

June 21st Happy summer Solstice,
Saturday July 16th – The Hive artists Kevin Bledsoe, Danny Bryant and Nick Pelegrino will be displaying their work in Boston at G Studios. The Reception starts at 7pm while live music starts at 10:30. A side from paintings and illustrations new Hive shirts and additional prints from each artist will be available. If your from the area stop by and check out the event. More info will be posted soon on this topic so check in again for the updates. If your on Facebook friend The Hive Gallery Tattoo Studio to gain up to date info as it comes. The site will also be adding a store for people wanting to buy work from the artists here at the hive. Clothing, paintings and illustrations will be the first to come along with with much more in the future.
may 25th
All goes well as we procede into the late spring. Our annual trip to the NYC Tattoo Convention proved very worth while. While visiting we got a chance to catch up with our friends at “My Tattoo” while Kevin Bledsoe received a hand tattoo of Fudo Miyo-o by well know artist and friend Jess Yenn. The tattoo will be featured in a book of all hand tattoos to be published later in the year.(more info soon to come on the topic). The tattoo also is the start of Kevin’s left arm sleeve by Jess.
The Hive Gallery’s Nick Pellegrino is well on his way in his aprentice ship and will be licenced for the summer. Nick P., Kevins First student and has pushed above all expectations and has been a fine addition to THE HIVE family. Congrats to Nick who has also just graduated colledge with a fine arts degree. Look forward to seeing the addition of his portfolio of tattoos and art work portfolio of illustrations and paintings on the hive site. COMING SOON!!
MY WAY WEDNESDAY- tattoo list= Japanese and Tibetan imagery-hannyah mask, Oni- Japanese demon, Oni with a thousand eyes, Katana -sword done in realism ,geisha , Samurai armor, YUKEI – Japanese spirits, and gods. Shiva, hare Krishna (hindu Gods) There are also different animation characters such as – “Neon Genesis” EVANGELION unit #1- if you dont know what this is well, its a really cool looking giant robot. Macros Plus planes and robots, which is an extension of ROBO TECH. Ghost in a shell characters, “Death Note” – Shimugami gods of death. Anything from “Ninja Scroll”. Also I’d like to do a Hara Kiri(samurai ritual suicide) scene. Any Japanese giant monster such as GODZILLA or better than that – GAMERA!
Realism- Bjork!!!!!! her “all is full of love video” (mecha humanoid characters.). You-tube has the video. ” The Beatles” tattoos,”The WHO” bands mates and images. I’d like to be the first to do a Oasis tattoo. Grave diggerz album art, other random – a werewolf, vampire, creature from the black lagoon, shirukin-japanese throwing knives and stars. odd illustrations of my favorite movies like “shogun Assassin” or LONE WOLF AND CUB” “CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON”, “HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS”, “7 SAMURAI OR THE MANGA VERSION SAMURAI 7″, “ONI BABA”,” TEXES CHAIN-SAW MASS”., VOLKSWAGEN IMAGE OR SYMBLE, KARMA TATTOO -HUMAN BODY WITH BULL HEAD SWING AN AXE AT A COW BODY WITH HUMAN HEAD, also Robots of my own design. Most tattoos are one session, but will be several hours of work. For more info contact the shop.

winter cap- Annual Skateboard deck art show rides through with its biggest turn out so far. The show was featured in Motif Magazine’s Feb 3rd-18th issue. February 28th The Providence Journal Bulletin -Rhode Islands Major News publication- features a front page article on artist Kevin Bledsoe entitled “Karma Helps tattoo artist hit his mark.” The articles will be linked and posted to the site soon.
